capsule – JUMPER [10th Analog Single]

November 2, 2008 at 5:42 pm (capsule) (, )

capsule’s 10th analog single, entitled JUMPER, was released on 11.08.08.

The song begins with a very spacey and dreamy instrumentation as Toshiko’s vocals are spotlighted with each syllable having its own emphasis. Soon the music takes a turn for the better as the music becomes more aggressive and a lot stronger. Once Toshiko comes in to sing, the more aggressive music suits her voice better and is a lot better at capturing the listener. The song is pretty simple but it works well with the aggressive edge that Nakata brings to his electropop genius. Had Toshiko’s vocals been a little more capturing then the song would have been even better.

In order to promote the single, a PV for JUMPER was made. The two haven’t made a PV in ages so it was very momentous for them to make one for this analog single. Unfortunately the video isn’t anything amazing and stays generally with the dark colors but it’s all right.

Single Ranking: B +

JUMPER is a pretty nice song, particularly when the music goes more aggressive. Overall it’s the music is that is the capturing element of the song rather than the vocals. Hopefully their upcoming album More! More! More! will feature this strong instrumentation.

Hahah, wiki.theppn says the Time is Now is gonna be a b-side for it. So, unless that was a dirty shameful lie, on the actual release date, we should get that track, too.
